Editorial standards
Our deal with readers, and how we keep it.
Our editorial standards are the deal we make with readers: we cite authoritative sources, show the last-updated date at the top of every article, check our numbers, and fix what we get wrong. No fake authors, no staged photos passed off as ours, and clear disclosure on any affiliate link we ever add.
A new site earns trust by being straight about how it works, not by faking experience it doesn't have. Here are the rules, in plain sight.
How we check what we publish
We start from the primary source: the standard, the mill's spec sheet, the study, not someone's summary of it. The references we lean on are listed on our Sources page, and we cite them again at the foot of each article.
The numbers aren't guesswork either. The quantities and tables come out of our calculator, pinned with a numerical test that fails the build if the numbers move. How that maths works is spelled out in our method.
Articles are written by the editorial team with AI assistance and a human review before anything goes live.
The last-updated date is always visible
At the top of every page, under the title, you'll see "Updated" with a date. It isn't buried in the code; it's there for you. When we revise an article, whether for a correction or because something changed, we move that date forward. So you always know how fresh what you're reading is.
When we get it wrong, we fix it
Nobody's infallible, and dough is all in the details. If we find a mistake we correct it and update the date; if it's a big one, we say so plainly in the article. Spotted something that doesn't add up? Tell us: in the app, on the Settings screen, there's a "Leave a rating" option with stars and an optional message. Send the correction there and it comes straight to us.
Our commitments
- No fake authors. We byline everything to the Pizza Call editorial team, never to an invented person and never to "AI." In the markup the author is the Pizza Call organisation, matching the byline you see on the page.
- No staged photos passed off as ours. We don't post shots of "our oven" or "our dough" that we didn't make. In their place we use original data tables and diagrams; if stock imagery ever appears, it's decorative and never captioned as ours.
- Disclosure on affiliate links. We have none today. If an article ever carries paid links, we'll say so at the top, label them "paid link" next to each one, and keep them honest. No paid recommendation dressed up as a neutral one.
